International Consultant for Staff Capacity Building Program in Game Development

Introduction:

Gaza University (GU) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to Work Transition Project - Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: Enhancing the Quality of Multimedia Program to Get Engaged in Game Industry (EMPEG); The project aims to develop the multimedia program at Gaza University towards game development to enhance graduates employability and open a new market for them locally and internationally. Accordingly, Gaza University seeks to recruit highly-qualified International consultant to develop Advanced Training Program for the Game Development.

 

 
Assignment Objective:

Gaza University is considering the selection of a professional and qualified consultant to be part of the consultation team, who will be responsible for developing a capacity building training program for the GU Staff and the partners to upgrade their skills in Game development industry. The consultant will be responsible to put 3 courses outline for the training sessions required by the project for staff members at GU and partners.

The consultant will provide a training map that is based-on the need of the knowledge set required for multimedia teachers in areas of Game development, so that the target staff are able to transfer knowledge and experience to the students, and qualifying them to meet the needs of the games industry, thus, increasing the graduates’ chances of employment in this field.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Design and implement a methodology to conduct this assignment.
  2. Review the needs assessment report conducted by the partner institutions, and provides recommendations for developing the training program.
  3. Develop the training program that includes detailed outlines and description of 3 training courses in game development (5 days/course, 15 trainees) that will cover the following main topics:
    • Games  Production Process
    • Contents development for Games
    • Working with Games Engines.  
    • Augmented Reality for Games.
    • Games script writing skills.
  4. Review and update the books and references’ list of the program.
  5. Submit the courses outline to the project manager.
  6. Deliver the training sessions online .

Qualifications & Skills:

Qualified consultant should hold the following:

  • At least a bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or any related discipline from a recognized university.
  • 5 years of experience in game development field (experience in higher education institutions is a bonus).
  • Proven experience in training courses development
  • Experience in adapting training of trainers (ToT) approach.
  • Currently in touch with Game development market and aware of its needs and challenges.

Deliverables:

Final report includes:

  • Training program for staff capacity building in game development industry that includes detailed outlines and description of 3 training courses (5 days/course, 15 trainees) according to the mentioned topics.
  • All materials and reports to be submitted in English language.

Time Frame: The expected level of effort for the Capacity Building Training Consultant to prepare and deliver the program is estimated as working days within the period from 10st August to 10th Sept 2019.

Start Date:  As soon as possible.

Contract Type: Lump Sum Contract.
